[checksums] | How to build PreviewQt from source >>
There are several companion applications available for PreviewQt. Companion applications are applications that provide various ways to interact with PreviewQt that might fit better into your workflow. None of them are necessary for using PreviewQt and all are strictly supplemental, and they might not be a good fit for you. Check them out and see for yourself.
Note that all of them, of course, require PreviewQt to be installed in order to function.
PreviewQtRemote is a very simple application that is nothing but a small and frameless square that remains on top of all windows. It can be moved somewhere out of the way and dropping any file on that square makes PreviewQt pop up with that file loaded (if supported by PreviewQt of course).

PreviewQt Plasmoid is a plasmoid that embeds neatly into the panel or the desktop of KDE Plasma 6. It allows for a easy and fast way to preview a wide range of different files, from images to videos, from documents to archives. To use it, add it to your desktop or panel and drop any file on it. An initial preview will pop up with some basic interaction (if applicable). A double click on the preview will open that same file directly in PreviewQt.
The best way to install the plasmoid is through the KDE store. The easiest way to access it is through the "Get new stuff" feature of the KDE desktop. Alternatively, you can download the latest plasmoid below and install it manually.
